WHAT WE DO

Changing Lives, One Meal at a Time.

Welcome to The Community Food Connection! Located in the heart of Poway, our organization is an all-volunteer non-profit group dedicated to helping those in need. With the dedication of our volunteers and partnering organizations, we currently give out over 90,000 pounds of food to over 4,250 households monthly.  We strive to improve the lives of everyone who is food insecure by providing produce, bread, canned goods, dried goods, meat and other products through our partnerships with the San Diego Food Bank and Feeding San Diego. We are actively soliciting for grants and are always in need of donations!

Open to Serve You

We distribute two categories of food to those in need:

Pantry Food

Pantry Food is food we collect through our partnerships with the San Diego Food Bank and their affiliate grocery stores including produce, meat, dairy, bread and canned goods.  If you are in need of food, please come to our address behind the Trinity Church in Poway.  We have a drive-through line for safety reasons and will place a box of food in your car trunk or backseat. No identification or personal information is needed.

Emergency Food

Once a month during the distribution hours we give out food from the Government called Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP) to qualifying families which includes canned, boxed, bagged and frozen foods. This food is given out to qualifying individuals once in the first week of every month.  To qualify, we need your  identification, home address, an indication of your income and how many people in your family (in order to give you the appropriate amount of food.) Ask about this program when you pick up your Pantry Food, or email us at tcfconnection@gmail.com.
